We believe that the right way to go is to reduce, reuse and recycle.
To visualise our passion for the Nudie denim and to make a statement for a sustainable future we lead a creative project to recycle old denim samples into new creations made by young designers.
The project was launched to coincide with a fashion show as a fun addition to the regular Nudie show. It falls right in line with the environmental concept to recycle second hand clothes, something we would like to encourage others to do throughout the world.
SS08 - We asked nine young designers; a couple of students, another few that are completely new to the fashion business and several who are already established in the Swedish world of fashion. The goal was to create something from Sweden’s history, old uniforms or dresses from the 19th century Nudie Jeans have asked our agents and distributors throughout the world to initiate their own recycle projects in the same vein. The Museum of World Culture in Göteborg has borrowed Maria Nordström’s beautiful crinoline creation for its "Fair fashion" exhibition, which will be on display for the rest of the year.
In 2008 the outfits are going on tour! In January you can see them at the Bread and Butter fair in Barcelona. The following took part in the Nudie Jeans Recycle Denim Maniacs Project: Maria Nordström, Helena Larsson, Sofia Westin, Rickard Lindqvist, Magdalena Säfqvist, Alice Schulman, Cecilia Wikman, Ololf M Lange.
FW08 - A beautiful accessories collection was launched by 2 swedish designers: Matilda Modig created bags rich in detail and Patrik Selling wonderful hats in all shape.
